Originally from Bloomington- Normal, IL, Chad grew up in a very musical family. At age 10, Chad follwed in his fathers footsteps and began playing the trumpet. Once in high school, he was introduced to the music of jazz greats including Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Miles Davis. It was during this time that his passion for jazz music and trumpet performance began to deepen. By the age of 16, Chad was regularly playing gigs in local restaurants and coffee shops, usually in exchange for free pizza. Chad went on to spend three years performing with the popular B/N based and Public Display of Funk.
In 2004, Chad permanently relocated to Madison, WI. Shortly after, he began a six year stint performing with local favorites the Blue Olives. The time spent performing with the Blue Olives was a vital part of Chad's musical development. Chad also spent three years performing "Funky Mondays" with former James Brown drummerClyde Stubblefield.
Over the years Chad has performed several notable shows including opening for rock ledgends Lynyrd Skynrd, as well as saxophone great Karl Denson. Outside of music, Chad spends much of his time working as a licensed Structural Engineer. He is also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
